A Rack represents a physical device or sensor in the system. It's the hardware component that collects and transmits data.

Key Characteristics​

  • Can send data to multiple Cellars
  • Identified by a unique Rack ID
  • Manages its own data collection and transmission
  • Supports various sensor types and protocols
  • Handles local data buffering and retry logic

Integration with Other Components​

Racks are the physical layer of the Brewry platform, responsible for:

  • Collecting data from various sensors
  • Converting raw sensor data into Kegs
  • Transmitting data to one or more Cellars
  • Managing local data storage and retry mechanisms
  • Ensuring reliable data transmission
